LOF REUNION 2004

A letter from Roy Gerstner to colleagues at the Reunion

What a success the LOF Reunion was!  I think I can speak for everyone who attended, we all had a fantastic time (even those who never managed to move from the bar area!).

Let me thank you all for attending, participating and supporting the event.
Thank you for the encouragement you have given to Paul and myself.

To all who donated so generously to the LOF Charity Raffle.Donations totalled £921:00 and a surplus of funds from the LOF Reunion Subscription of £79:00 makes a 'Grand' Total of £1,000:00  This is to be split equally between the King George V Fund for Sailors and The Missions to Seafarers. I plan to visit Liverpool on the 6th and 7th July and during this time will present the cheques to each organisation.

To all who have given donations for the LOF News Letter many thanks also, this will ensure the News Letter is funded for the next 2 years.

I am sorry that we were unable to organise a 'group' photograph, but the logistics in trying to get everyone together was just not practical on the day, I hope instead that your own photographs and memories of the evening will be sufficient enough.

Nearly everyone on departing asked, when the next one will be…..my answer to that was……"Never Say Never Again", I will in due course discuss with Paul this idea.
Time and Place, don't know when or where yet!

The attendance on the evening was approximately 210

Like many, I only managed to get to talk to a relatively small number and would have liked to have spent some more time reminiscing, my apologies if I did not get to speak with you.
